re: Degas
“an original fellow, this Degas, sickly, neurotic and afraid of losing his sight; but for that reason extremely sensitive and receptive to the character of things.”

courtesy & respect
There is a fine, fine line between inter-gender courtesy and treating a woman like a helpless know-nothing. sometimes i resent having to smile and say thank you instead of, “if you had given me 15 seconds, i could have done it myself.”
I like the looks on people’s faces right after they goodbye kiss someone on the sidewalk. When they are walking away, even the douchebags look just like everyone else for a second.
when i am the only person on the whole #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick bus, when i run to catch it in a skirt careful not to slip where it rained while i was sleeping,
i feel very special in those blocks that i am riding alone.
i will say this:
as much as the times that you don’t have a valentine suck ass, the times that you DO have one one are so much more spectacularly delightful than the times without ones are sad.

expensive truths
you really will get a better haircut for $80, damnit. WITH multiple look style coaching. it is a crime that no one before took the time to teach me proper finger twisting.
dear election season
two American tragedies I will speak more specifically to in the next 24 hours:
Lana Del Rey
The fact that it is 11:20pm on a Wednesday night and I can’t get a seat at Starbucks, this location (BT-Dubs), is 24 hours.
